PARKING??

Yes, all of us downtowners hear about the lack of parking.

Here’s the skinny on parking near us.

There is free 2 hour parking on the street.  Parking is free for 2 hours at the Kitchener market and the Madison parking lot down the street is metered but also free on Saturdays.

Don’t let a little walk from your car come between you and the bread!

WHO ARE WE???

We are Tim Simpson and Aura Hertzog and we opened a small natural and organic bakery called GOLDEN HEARTH BAKING CO.  We are located at 343 King st E.  in Kitchener Ontario.

519 342 2178

Tim Simpson began his baking career at 20 King St in Kitchener.  He then when on to George Brown College where he and Aura met.  From there he worked at Jump Restaurant as the pastry chef.  Next was work at one of the best pastry shops in Toronto, Bonjour Brioche.  After 3 years and 50 000 croissants he left for  an assistant bakery manager position in the new Whole Foods  Market Store in West Vancouver.  After moving back to Kitchener he decided to bring his love of bread and french pastries to the downtown community.

Aura Hertzog was raised in a B and B in downtown Toronto.  After graduating with a BA in Geography form York University she decided to follow her passion of food to George Brown College.  While at GBC she began working in the kitchen at the Windsor Arms Hotel under chef JP Challet.  From there she went on as chef at Oyster Boy and then associate team leader at Whole Foods Market in Toronto.  She was able to work and learn from chef Elaina Asselin.  With Tim in tow she accepted a new position as Team leader of prepared foods in the West Vancouver Whole Foods Market Store.  After 4 years with the company and a baby on the way she and Tim moved back to Ontario.  With Tim’s talent in pastries and her love of customers she knew that Golden Hearth was the next venture for them.
